While other nations have enacted bans and limitations on the use of chimpanzees and other great apes in research, the U.S. remains the last remaining large-scale user of chimpanzees in the world. Project R&R works for the release and restitution of all chimpanzees in U.S. labs. In solidarity with U.S. efforts, organizations and individuals from countries around the globe can help. As we move closer to an end to chimpanzee research in the U.S., we must keep our efforts strong and focused. • Help retire privately owned chimpanzees languishing in:
  • Michale E. Keeling Center
  • New Iberia Research Center
  • Southwest National Primate Research Center
  • Yerkes National Primate Research Center

• Sign our petition in support of releasing the elder chimpanzees (i.e., a male chimpanzee 25 years or older or a female 30 years or older) from labs and placing them into sanctuary.
   
• Send an automated letter asking your federal Representative and Senators to co-sponsor the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act (H.R.1513/S.810). UPDATE: GAPCSA was not passed during the previous Congressional session and has not been reintroduced. Learn more.
